The space, formerly Bouterin, and tucked away under the Queensborough Bridge was in negotiation when I was brought on board the team to create a new-style Turkish restaurant in NYC for owners Temel and Hatice Artukmac. We wanted to execute a clean minimalist space which upheld those special touches of Western Turkish traditions. Laser cut screens, hammered copper mixed with more subtle, quiet textures created a balance between modern and traditional.
